Description
Ursolet 150mg Tablet is used to dissolve certain gallstones and prevent them from forming. It helps break down the cholesterol that has converted into stones in your gallbladder thereby dissolving the stones. Ursolet 150mg Tablet should be swallowed whole after a meal and with a glass of milk or water. The dose will depend on what you are being treated for and your body weight. Take it regularly to get maximum benefit and keep taking it for as long as prescribed (several months or longer). Keep taking it even if your symptoms disappear. When given by mouth, ursodeoxycholic acid reduces the ratio of cholesterol to bile salts plus phospholipids in bile, causing desaturation of cholesterol saturated bile. Ursodeoxycholic acid is absorbed from the gastro-intestinal tract and undergoes first pass metabolism and enterohepatic recycling. It is partially conjugated in the liver before being excreted into bile and undergoing 7-α-dehydroxylation to lithocholic acid, some of which is excreted directly in the faeces. The rest is absorbed and mainly conjugated and sulphated by the liver before excretion in the faeces. Ursolet 150mg tablets are also indicated in the treatment of primary biliary cirrhosis (PBC), IHCP during pregnancy, jaundice, NAFLD, Hepatitis and highly effective against drug induced liver toxicity.
